Terms of engagement
How working with Vehicle Lab Zone actually works. These are the terms every engagement runs on unless something different is agreed in writing.
What Vehicle Lab Zone provides
Project direction: the brief, the technical specification, system decisions, parts curation and sourcing strategy, budget staging, supplier selection, sequencing, oversight during execution, and responsibility for whether the finished vehicle makes sense as a whole.
What it does not provide
Physical work. Vehicle Lab Zone does not hold a workshop bench and does not perform fabrication, mechanical work, wiring, paint, trim, assembly or testing. That work is carried out by specialist partners, including USJ 4x4 Garage, and it is quoted by them, directly to you.
Warranty on executed work sits with whoever performed it, not with Vehicle Lab Zone.
Enquiries and quotations
An enquiry is not a quotation and does not commit either side to anything. The first paid step is a technical consultation, from RM160 depending on scope and the time required. What comes out of that consultation is yours, whether or not the project goes further.
Payment
Direction work is quoted against an agreed scope and paid in stages, so that each stage can be completed and reviewed before the next begins. Parts are charged at a fixed sourcing rate rather than as a margin on the part.
If the specification changes
Some of what determines a decision is not knowable when the decision has to be planned. When new information arrives, the affected decisions are re-taken, the dependent ones re-checked, and the specification revised in writing. You are told at the point it happens, with the options and what each one costs.
Documents and drawings
The brief, specification, parts schedule and build plan produced for your project are yours to keep and to give to any supplier working on the vehicle.
If a project stops
Either side can stop. Work completed up to that point is payable; work not started is not. You keep every document produced.
Confidentiality
Your project is not discussed publicly, and nothing about it — vehicle, photographs, specification or your name — appears on this site or anywhere else without your written agreement.
